This passive house standard property was constructed on the client’s own brownfield site to the rear of their existing home. It is set over four floors with a partially visible piled and board-marked reinforced concrete basement providing bedroom and bathroom accommodation.
The three upper floors are constructed using a Just-Swiss timber frame system providing living and further bedroom and ensuite facilities. The exterior is finished with a combination of cedar cladding, cement corrugated sheeting and purpose made timber corrugated panelling finished with copper rainwater goods. The flat roofs and terraces are formed using a warm roof Bauder system with a sedum finish. The separate Studio and Garage blocks are site constructed timber frames off concrete foundations finished with corrugated steel and hardwood joinery.
Air source heating, solar thermal, photovoltaic panels and rain harvesting provide the services installations complemented with a full house ventilation and heat recovery system.
